NHSA-CDFI DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
NHSA-CDFI provides NeighborWorks® organizations with a host of development services designed to increase both organizational capacity and productivity.
Development services involve on-site or remote technical assistance with preparing loan applications, underwriting loans, developing real estate-based pro formas, preparing business plans, managing loan origination and servicing, and asset and property management.
NHSA-CDFI's development services enable NeighborWorks organizations to successfully access our financial products. Development services are connected to the underwriting of our various loan products and are provided to ensure NeighborWorks applicants are (1) ready to access our financial products and (2) likely to receive a loan approval from our loan committee.
Development services related to either single-family or multifamily development (developing pro formas, asset and property management) are designed to assess and, if necessary, to suggest enhancements to the financial feasibility of the project up front. This process helps to mitigate the risk of delinquency or default by the NeighborWorks organization.
In the case of NHSA-CDFI loan proceeds being used by NeighborWorks organization borrowers for homeownership or owner-occupied rehabilitation, NHSA-CDFI's development services (underwriting loans, managing loan origination and servicing and asset management) are designed to assess and, if necessary, to suggest enhancements to the policies, procedures, and technical operating systems in place to mitigate against the risk of delinquency or default by the NeighborWorks organization's borrowers.
